Tarantula frame
Handcrafted framed tarantula moult with crystal abdomen
£35.00
Out of stock
This one-of-a-kind display features a genuine, naturally shed moult from a Brazilian whiteknee tarantula (Acanthoscurria geniculata), carefully preserved and hand-mounted onto an ornate black frame.
The moult has been positioned to give the appearance of the tarantula climbing from the frame, with a polished crystal incorporated into the abdomen to complete the form. The Brazilian whiteknee's characteristic contrasting pale leg bands remain beautifully visible, making this an unusual piece of natural history art.
Rather than representing the death of an animal, a moult is the exoskeleton naturally shed by a tarantula as it grows, a preserved moment from its life cycle.
Frame dimensions: 4 x 3.5 inches
